July 20, 2008--Friday night Penton Raceways held round 11 of the NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series, national touring event. 49 Drivers from around the southeast attended to try and qualify for 24 cherrished spots to race. When all was said and done Phenix City’s William Thomas, led flag to flag to capture the win and the $2,500 purse. Derrick Rainey was second, followed by Scott Knowles, Chip Brindle, and Frank Ingram rounding out the top 5. In other racing action Sam Moore, picked up the win in Limited Sportsman, Scott Sherrer, in Hobby, and Brandon Freeman, in the Bandit Stock Division. Penton raceways will be back in action this Friday night July 25, with a full program of championship racing.
